How long have you worked at HPC?  

It will be two years in August.

How did you get into your field of work?

Since I was young, I have admired health care workers and knew I wanted to serve my community in that way.

Do you speak any other languages? If yes, which ones?

I speak English and Spanish.

Do you have a favorite quote? If yes, what is it?

“Where there is hope, there is faith, where there is faith, miracles happen.”

What values are important to you?

Health, integrity, faith, independence, accountability and compassion.

What is something about you that would surprise people?

What is on your “bucket” list?

I would like to travel to Rome and go skydiving.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is my homemade Mexican food and Italian food.

What is your favorite movie?

“Taken” with Liam Neeson.

What is your favorite hobby?

I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family.

I do not have any pets.

How long have you worked at HPC? Three years

How did you get into your field of work? I was exposed to an amazing nurse practitioner when my son was a baby and kept getting ear infections.

Do you speak any other languages? If yes, which ones?

No, but I really wish I did.

Do you have a favorite quote? If yes, what is it?

I am doing really cool robotic physical therapy.

I would like to visit most of the national parks.

I enjoy playing games on my iPad and reading.

I am a huge animal lover! We have one cat and two dogs.

How long have you worked at HPC? I started in May 2018, so one year.

How did you get into your field of work?

I always knew that I wanted to be in a health care profession and felt dentistry would allow the most family time which is something I desired.

Do you speak any other languages? If yes, which ones?

I speak limited Spanish. I can understand quite a bit, but only speak a little.

Do you have a favorite quote? If yes, what is it?

I love quotes. These are two of my favorites:

What is something about you that would surprise people?

I was born in Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University, but I am a huge Texas Longhorns fan!

What is on your “bucket” list?

I would like to visit Rome and Paris. I would also like to attend several sporting events such as a prime time home game at Louisiana State University.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite foods are Chinese, BBQ and Mexican!

What is your favorite movie?

I have several, “Pursuit of Happiness”, “A Beautiful Mind”, “Boyz N the Hood”, “Remember the Titans”, “Inception”, “The Great Gatsby” and so many more…

What is your favorite hobby?

I enjoy lifting weights, playing golf and watching sports.

Yes, I am an animal lover. I would say I prefer dogs however, I have two cats, thanks to my wife.

How did you get into your field of work?

When I was young, I wanted to be a forensic psychologist like I watched on “Law and Order”.

Do you have a favorite quote? If yes, what is it?

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”

What values are important to you?

Family, work-life balance, quality time.

How did you get into your field of work?

This was not my first career.   I went back to school 10 years after college. I wanted to help others, give back and make a difference.

No.

Do you have a favorite quote? If yes, what is it?

Yes! “It makes a difference to that one!” -The Starfish Story

What values are important to you?

To help others, always smile and have a positive attitude.

Tristen WinstonWhat is something about you that would surprise people?

I worked in TV, Movies & Musical Theatre since childhood, and it was my first career.

What is on your “bucket” list?

Skydiving and traveling to Italy.

What is your favorite food?

French fries.

Singing and dancing.

I have one dog, a Bichon Frise named, Spirit.

HPC names Employees of the Year for 2018

During the annual holiday celebration on Dec. 5, Joe Clark, PA-C, and Andrea Madrigal, MA, were named Employees of the Year. Joe and Andrea were each presented with an award.

Joe is board certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. He received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Methodist College in Omaha, Neb., and a Physician Assistant certification from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND.

Joe has been practicing as a nurse since 1994 and as a physician assistant since 2001. He has worked in the fields of general surgery, trauma, critical care and family medicine and performs a variety of minor surgical procedures at HPC.

Joe has been a valuable part the team since starting in February of 2016. “He has not hesitated to add patients to his schedule when needed, and our patients appreciate that,” says Amy Falk, CEO.

Andrea MadrigalAndrea Madrigal, MA

Andrea joined HPC in October of 2016. “Andrea is always willing to help any of her coworkers with a big smile,” Amy adds. “She demonstrates a positive attitude, is dependable and goes above and beyond for her patients with no hesitation.”

According to Wael Mourad, MD, Chief Health Officer, Joe Clark is one of the best physician assistants he has ever worked with. “He is kind, compassionate and an excellent clinician who deeply cares about maintaining his skills and his patients. I am so proud to call him a colleague.”

“If you have to think of one person that personifies why HPC exists, it is Andrea,” Dr. Mourad adds. “For our patients, it is all about access and getting them what they need. That is exactly what Andrea does day in and day out. I am so happy that she is a part of the HPC team!”

Joe and Andrea work together each day and they make a great team! Thank you, Joe and Andrea, for all that you do for HPC.

How long have you worked at HPC?

I have been at HPC for about 2 and half months.

How did you get into your field of work?

I started volunteering at a nursing home at a very young age. As I grew older, I knew I wanted to work in a field where I could help people and be a part of their journey.

Do you speak any other languages? If yes, which ones?

I don’t speak any other languages, but that is the goal for 2019.

Do you have a favorite quote? If yes, what is it?

“Love is patient, love is kind. I graduated high school when I was 16 years old.
