Andrea J. Scott, FNP-BC
Family Nurse Practitioner
“My goal is for my patients to have their best, longest life. If I can help people feel better every day, even in little ways, I can reduce their suffering.”
Andrea J. Scott, FNP-BC, has earned both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Luke’s College of Nursing and a Master of Science in Rural Family Nursing from the University of Central Missouri. She is certified to practice in Kansas and Missouri, has earned a Basic Life Support certification and is licensed by the US Drug Enforcement Administration to treat patients for opiate addiction. She comes to HPC having worked as a nurse practitioner in both clinical and retail environments, providing care ranging from primary to hospice.
Andrea’s medical education and training followed early-career positions in journalism and marketing. Though a seemingly untraditional path, these roles helped her develop the interviewing skills so important in provider-patient relationships. They also led her to a more personally rewarding and fulfilling career.
Andrea is excited to join HPC because of its community orientation. She enjoys the mystery and challenge of helping patients every day and the opportunity to care for the underserved, who often have little or no safety net.
A self-described “obsessive gardener,” Andrea is restoring her 1950s-era home through endless projects that play on her sense of curiosity and problem-solving. She welcomes helping individuals and families at any of HPC’s clinics.
