Edward KaranjaEdward Karanja, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER

“I connect with patients by actively listening and giving them my undivided attention. I give my honest opinion, while acknowledging what matters most to them. I’m excited to join a healthcare community that allows more time for patient education.”

Originally from Kenya, East Africa, Edward is a family nurse practitioner at our Olathe Clinic. He has been in the U.S. for more than 25 year and brings 17 years of experience—most of them spent as a registered nurse in skilled nursing, acute care and critical illness settings—where he developed a fondness for helping geriatric and critically ill patients.

Besides English, he speaks Swahili and Kikuyu, both of which are native in Kenya, where he still has family.

A longtime Kansas resident, Edward earned his associate degree in nursing from Butler Community College in El Dorado, and his bachelor’s from Southwestern College in Winfield. He later earned his master’s at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.

He is passionate about teaching patients about disease progression and preventative care to help avoid possible complications. Edward enjoys educating the HPC community about diabetes prevention.
