Jessica L. Nichols, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC
Family Nurse Practitioner
“Working with the underserved and underinsured has been the most rewarding work I’ve experienced. To be able to walk with patients on their healthcare journey and ensure they receive the best care possible, regardless of their financial situation, is what continues to fuel my passion every day.”
Jessica recently joined Health Partnership Clinic (HPC) as a Family Nurse Practitioner and will see children on a PRN, or part-time basis. She’ll be especially helpful when our providers are on vacation, assuring that our patients continue to have access to help when they need it.
Just prior to joining the HPC team, Jessica gained extensive familiarity with community health-style help working at Vibrant Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center and family clinic. There, she served as primary care provider for pediatric patients and led the COVID response and initiatives at the clinic’s four locations.
At HPC, Jessica is excited to resume a patient-centric focus saying, “Truly listening to people and what they want to share is imperative in health care. I like to find the silver lining in situations and try to help meet people where they are in their lives. I want to be able to work to improve the health of children in my community.”
Though now working in Kansas, known for Jayhawks and Wildcats, Jessica gained her highest educational distinction from basketball rival Duke University, where in 2018 she earned a Doctorate of Nursing Practice, far exceeding the hours for nursing education. She earlier graduated with a bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and later, a master’s from the University of Kansas Medical Center.
When not helping patients, Jessica enjoys family time, where boating, movies and building Legos are family favorites. Together, the family’s excited to watch the Kansas City Chiefs play for another Super Bowl title.
