How long have you worked at HPC?

I’ve worked at HPC for almost two months.

How did you get into your field of work?

I was an admin/auditor for a company that audits federal food programs for three years before coming to HPC. I’m all about organization, efficiency and helping others- HPC allows me to do all of those things.

Do you speak any other languages? If yes, which ones?

Does a 153-day streak on Duo Lingo count? I’m currently learning Spanish and would love to learn more languages in the future.

Nikki Balden's FamilyDo you have a favorite quote? If yes, what is it?

“Life is short, the world is wide. I want to make some memories.” -Mamma Mia

Values that are important to me include kindness, honesty, patience and hard work. All of these are things I strive to be and value in others.

What is something about you that would surprise people?

I wouldn’t say I’m super surprising, but despite my sunny disposition, I love emotional/inspiring movies that make me cry.

What is on your “bucket” list?

I have always wanted to go to Greece and am hoping to plan a trip there for my 30th birthday next year.

What is your favorite food?

I am always down for ice cream, a good brunch or sushi- it’s too hard to pick just one. I love food!

What is your favorite movie?

My favorite movie is “Mamma Mia” one and two. They are the perfect mix of music, tears & tears of joy. I also believe “The Lord of the Rings” Trilogy is superior.

Nikki Balden's CatWhat is your favorite hobby?

My favorite hobby is going to concerts with my sister. We love live music and have been to three concerts this year!

Are you an animal lover?  If yes, how many pets do you have and what kind are they?

I love all animals! I adopted an 18 pound (previously 20 pound), five-year-old, orange/white tabby cat named Chauncey about four and a half months ago. He is the laziest and the cutest.
